Friends to drive from London to Mongolia for charity

Anna Skentelbery, 20, will travel 10,000 miles across a third of the globe with Ashley Ferguson from Upper Woburn Place in Central London to Ulaabaater in Mongolia to raise money for charity Go Help.

Their journey will take them through the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia before they reach Central Asia.

Anna, who lives in Forest Gate, said: “We’ve already raised £1,000 for the charity and we’re really looking forward to making the journey and handing over our vehicle when we get there.

“It’s such a great cause and we’re glad we can be a part of it.

“I hope we can also help reverse the bad image that young people have by doing something like this.”

The pair have dubbed themselves Team Stop Yakking and they will leave as part of The Mongolia Charity Rally on July 6.

They have had many generous donations to boost their supplies with Explorer Travel Insurance covering their trip for free, Green Valley Industrial Supplies have donated jerry cans, Beanprint.com have given them business cards, and ID Photoshop in Charing Cross handed over free passport photos for their visas.
