Today marks 100th anniversary of journalism in Mongolia

March 6th is the 100th anniversary of the establishment of National journalism in Mongolia.

On this day, 100 years ago, “Shine Toil Khemeekh Bichig” or New Mirror, issued by Mongolian leading pioneers, was published for the first time as a National news publication. The history of Mongolian National journalism is all about the history made by journalists throughout time.

The Head of the Mongolian News Websites Association, B.Oyungerel, made a statement for the 100th anniversary of National journalism in Mongolia.

In the statement she said that “the media sector is aware of its rights and responsibilities in our society. Therefore the sector has taken the blame for decades.

But we are proud and invest in our jobs.

As well as the 100th anniversary of National journalism, 10 years have already passed since the establishment of online media in Mongolia. Even though online media is totally new to our society, it is one of the strongest parts of the media sector.

Words are not enough to thank our senior journalists who founded the media sector in Mongolia.

We are also proud of our colleagues who make the history arm-in-arm with sharp pen and wits.

I send my congratulations to journalists, reporters and all media staff across time for the 100th anniversary of the foundation of National media on behalf of the Mongolian News Websites Association”.
