Mongolian ranks fifth in world in national IQ scores

According to a study by Richard Lynn, a British psychologist, and Tatu Vanhanen, a Finnish political scientist, and from subsequent work by Jelte Wicherts, a Dutch psychologist, Mongolia is ranked fifth in the world in terms of Intelligence Quotient (IQ) scores. The study examined data from 113 countries and ranked the countries according to “national IQ” scores.

Singapore topped the list with 108 points, followed by South Korea with 106, Japan with 105 and Italy with 102. Mongolia ranked fifth alongside Iceland, which received the same score, 101. Mongolia’s neighbor, Russia, ranked 32nd while Equatorial Guinea was ranked the lowest on the scale.

Critics of the study have said that the ranking was based on non-scientific methods, such as literature reviews and international student assessment studies.
