Chinese man commits suicide after killing traffic cop
Beijing, Mar 2 (IANS) A suspected drug addict in north China who allegedly killed a traffic police officer committed suicide when policemen pursued him, Xinhua reported.
The incident took place in Inner Mongolia region.
Zhang Fei, 39, used a razor blade to slash an artery and vein in his neck inside a rented vehicle. He died in a hospital, the Public Security Bureau of Baotou city said.
Zhang, a , was caught driving a stolen unlicensed minibus Feb 23. He was suspected of deliberately hitting Zheng Shijie, a 33-year-old traffic police officer, who tried to stop the vehicle.
After holding on to the vehicle's windshield wipers for 700 metres, the policeman was thrown onto the ground and then run over by the minibus.
The accused was on the run until being spotted by police Thursday.
