Calls to demolish the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions

The Head of the Trade Union of Erdenes Tavantolgoi, S.Erdene, held a press conference urging for the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions to be demolished.

The Head of Trade Union of Erdenes Tavantolgoi claims that the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions has failed to carry out their duty according to law, has misused assets from taxpayers for its` authorities, failed to report financial accounting and has ultimately turned into a business organization.

The Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions is owner and rent collector of over a dozen real estate such as the Mongolian Trade Union Palace building, Zulzaga Youth camp in Darkhan, the Cultural Palace of Mongolian Trade Unions, a nursing camp in Songino, the Ulaanbaatar Trade Union building, hotels, auto bases, the Labour Institute building and the Trade Union building and hotel in Orkhon.

But the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions failed to report their financial accounting to members.

S.Erdene also claims that an ordinary worker is unaware of his or her rights, where and who to apply to when he or she is fired unfairly or has become a victim of work place security demonstrating failures of the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions. It is because the Union has not taken on the role to take action to protect worker`s right.

He called a public movement, seeking support from the public, to make a claim against the organization.
