Baogang crude steel output in February down 8.26%

On March 5, Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel Co. (Baogang Group) announced that in February this year it produced 775,500 tonne of pig iron, down 10.58%, 818,100 tonne of crude steel, down 8.26% and 778,300 mt of finished steel, down 10.5% all on month on month basis.

Additionally, Baogang Group’s rail and beam plant produced a total of 71,400 tonne of steel rails in February, 1,900 mt more than the targeted volume. Meanwhile, Baogang’s steel sheet plant produced 34,200 tonne of galvanized sheet in the given month, exceeding the target by 4,200 tonne.
