Traditional Mongolian harp to be registered with UNESCO

The Association of Mongolian Traditional Harps has taken actions to register the Mongolian lap harp to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. The first step of the process is a harp performance called “Praise” that will take place on 21st and 22nd February. Only a few can play the instrument in Mongolia. Because it is very difficult to learn the lap harp for amateurs and generally only professionals play it. Therefore the Association of the Mongolian Traditional Harp has gone through a search for qualified musicians who play the harp in order to provide a professional musician for the occasion.
