Suspect of MIAT case requested to go on bail

Local reports say that the detention terms for the eight suspects in the MIAT money laundering case have been extended.

The Office of the Prosecutor General commented that “the detention term for suspects is not over. Therefore such issue have not been raised yet,” on the report.

The MIAT money laundering case has been in debate since the arrest of Ts.Orkhon, former CEO of MIAT, his wife Y.Tsetsegmaa and other suspects last Friday.

The Prosecutor issued an arrest warrant preventing any disturbance during the investigation process. The period of two weeks for detention is not over.

Local reports said that the main suspect, Ts,Orkhon, claimed he is willing to reveal 20 politicians who were involved if the police release his wife. But the Criminal Police Department denied the reports.

The main suspect Ts. Orkhon keeps requesting to go on bail so he can be questioned out of the detention center by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
