No decision on increase to electric prices

The discussion by the Commission of Electric Arrangement is on whether or not to increase power and hit the 15% to 20% output on 1st March, 2013. Gan-Erdene.R, the Head of the Law and Administration Office of the Commission of Electric Arrangement was asked some questions about the matter.

-Lately there have been discussions about the price increase of power and hitting the output mark. How many percentage will it be increased by?

-We not yet decided about this. We are still conducting the research. There have been some discussion in the media about this but so for no decision has been made..

-How is the research being conducted? Is it possible that the price will not change?

-Otgonbayar.S, the chairman of the Commission of the Electric Arrangement has done research about whether there is a real demand for the extra energy by going to biggest enterprises and the power stations. Also, we are researching about whether different reasons of financial loss of the power companies. We are doing this to find a way to increase power without financially squeezing the people.

-When will the report about the increase be ready?

-First of all we have to finish our research. We will make a decision based on the report of the research. We will report on the decision before the 15 day mark as set by the electricity law.
