Escorted Mongolian Bling Tour - Hip Hop and Herders in Mongolia

Travel operator and Northern travel specialist 50 Degrees North has just released an exclusively escorted tour to Mongolia to coincide with the worldwide release of the documentary, Mongolian Bling. Australian film director and travel photographer, Benj Binks who has spent the last six years researching and filming Mongolian Bling, will escort the tour.

The 14-day adventure will include hanging out with the country’s musicians and rappers, travelling authentically through Mongolia and experiencing the traditional Naadam Festival. The tour will leave travellers with a unique insight into Mongolia’s people and culture. The tour will take a maximum of 12 participants.

The film uncovers the country’s traditional music, sacred history, turbulent democracy and ancient links to hip-hop. Mongolia is the Wild West of Asia, and its people hold more stories and secrets than any film could capture. In a rapidly modernising world, there is a strong of identity and tradition that still holds on, however many fear it’s slipping away from them. With the help of Benj and his friends, we hope that some of the stories and secrets of Mongolia are shared with us during our exploration of Mongolia.

As the first film about modern Mongolia, Mongolian Bling shows another side of this beautiful and fascinating culture, whilst showcasing some of the country’s promising young rappers, and gives hope to cultures that feel the threat of being lost to foreign ‘bling’.

The departure is scheduled to run from 28th June 2013.
