Compositor B.Sharav wins first prize at Morin Khuur festival

The 26th year of the Morin Khuur festival that chooses the best song and the best composer of the year was held on Sunday January 3rd.

Composers compete with over 80 of the best productions for the festival. In the semi-finals the best 27 songs were selected for the Gala concert.

According to the decision by the judges of the festival the ten best songs were selected for the special and premium prizes.

State Prized renowned composer B.Sharav won the first prize with his song “Homeland worth more than my life”.

The Grand Prix winner received the Silver Cup of the Morin khuur festival and a prize fund of 3,000,000 MNT.

The three times winner of the Morin Khuur festival, composer B.Byambayar, won the second prize with his song “Soul occupied by Mongolia”.

The third prize was handed to composers T.Ser-od and C.Munkh-Yurtunts for their song.
