Box museum to promote arts and culture to children

The Arts Council of Mongolia have developed a non-formal education program for three years called “Box museum” to promote arts and culture of Mongolia, preserve sustainable development of museums and improve children`s knowledge of culture heritage.

The program aims to provide knowledge about transferable culture heritages by moving away from trying to developing children’s arts and aesthetic senses through intangible culture heritages such as traditional Mongolian hand crafts, fine and pictorial art works.

The Arts Council of Mongolia is now ready to visit schools with its “Box museum” in celebration of its 10 year anniversary.

The Arts Council has formed an instructional package based on the treasury of the Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts with financial support by the Petrovis company.

The staff of the Museum of Fine Arts will launch the program with the first lesson of the “Box museum” to school children at the Zanabazar museum at 12 pm on February 28th.

The Box museum will travel around schools in the City to promote arts and culture and the heritage of Mongolia and preserve knowledge on the subject.

The Arts Council of Mongolia is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2002 to ensure that the art and culture of Mongolia is sustainably developed, promoted and preserved.
